Happy Day!!
Well on Tuesday I finally did my lesson on what plants is. I felt that every thing went well. When I was doing the lesson I was kind of nervous because I thought that her students were not going to learn anything. I was doing the less and every one was paying attention. I forgot some parts but I remembered them quickly. At the end my mentor gave me some feedback and I'm working to accomplish what my mentor gave me as feedback. The whole lesson went well and I really liked it. I hope that in January I can get some more hands on experience on teaching. Basically I now know what it feels like to be in front of the class. Its so helpful when my mentor gives me feedback because i know what I need to improve on.

Looking Forward to....
This is I think my fifth week interning at Futures Elementary. I feel that I am doing a good job helping my mentor with her students. I enjoy working their because I see now how teaching is a hard but yet rewarding work. At the end of the school day my mentor gets really tired but she says that she had a good day because her students learned something knew every. My mentor really inspires me to pursue my dream. On Thursday its going to be my last internship day and I 'm really sad because I enjoy being their. I'm starting to buy the materials that I'm going to need for the lesson that my mentor and I are going to teach together. I hope that everything goes well and that they actually learn something new. I'm looking forward to learn more things about how difficult teaching is but yet it's still rewarding.

Hands-on reading
Last week my mentor told me if I wanted to read them a book on Thursday. When I got to my internship I remembered the conversation that I had with my mentor. Like usual the students went to lunch and my mentor and I had lunch. When they came back they had math. Since my mentor was not going to come tomorrow she contacted a sub. Soon the sub arrived and just observed what my mentor was doing and how my mentor gets their attention. Soon later the sub left and my mentor had a difficult time getting their attention. Her students were doing a test and I guess they were not paying attention to what the lesson was about. I noticed that some of her students had a difficult time with the test while some didn't. At 2:40 my mentor and I were having a conversation about the lesson that my mentor and I were going to teach.

It's all about my mentor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really feel that my internship is going really well. My mentor is a really nice person to have a mentie which is me. I feel that my mentor and I are building a strong relationship. But I am starting to realized that I really need to open up and not be shy any more because in order to pursue my teaching dream I have to set up. I see my mentor as a role model to me because I want to follow her footsteps. I really like how she teaches her students and I trying to be more fun with the students. I mean I am fun but I guess my shyness gets a hold at me. I'm really enjoying every second that I go to my internship because I really want to pursue my teaching career. When Tuesday and Thursday come around I am really excited on what going to be in store for me when I get there. Her students really enjoy my presence there and I really like every single one of them. When I get my act together I'm looking forward to build even a more stronger relationship with my mentor.

Planning a Lesson
Today when I entered the classroom everyone greeted me like they always do when I go to my internships. Everyone went to lunch and my mentor and I were talking about how to do an lesson on plants. One week before thanksgiving break my mentor and I were planing to do a lesson that wold help me with my exhibition. My mentor told me that in the five minutes I had to talk about my LTI I should talk about the process I went through to just plan a lesson and teach it to the students. I feel that the five minutes are going to go by fast and I won't be able to talk about what I do in my internship. After school my mentor gave me a head start on planning the lesson and she also helped me. My mentor told me that on Thursday I was going to read them a book to help me feel more comfortable with teaching them a lesson. I 'm also going to continue to plan the lesson on Thursday. I need all the luck that would help me to go through the lesson smoothly. My mentor told me that

My 4th week on my Internship!!!!!!!!!
When I entered my internship I felt really different. The reason I felt that way is because the students were getting out early at 12:50 and I wanted more time to be able to know more about my interests . Around 11:30 the students were doing math because they were getting out early. The lesson today was the double of a number for example 2+2=4. My mentor was leading a game but unfortunately some students were getting frustrated because they were not "winners" and my mentor decided to stop the game for that reason. Time passed by really quickly and it was time for lunch. When they came back from lunch they were still working with double problems. I noticed that some got it pretty quickly while others didn't. My mentor wants them to be able to solve a subtraction and addition problems quickly because that will help them in 2nd grade. From 1:00-4:00 my mentor is had parent conferences. I noticed that my mentor was so professional on explaining parents what areas their children needs help on and what areas they are passing or improving.

ELD
For the past 3 weeks I've been watching my mentor doing English Language Development. The program is required by the district for 30 minutes each day. In my opinion I would say that in a way it helps them develop more knowledge. In another way I see that the program bored s them to death. Also the program intends to help Spanish speakers not forget how to speak English fluently. Most importantly ELD helps them with academic language. My mentor thinks that doing ELD with her students does not help them apply what they learn to their daily conversations. When I was in first grade I remember that talking to my friends helped me improve my academic language. I would say that it will would be helpful for her students to talk to their friends. Being here for the last three weeks and seeing how ELD works helped me know about how 1st graders learn.

wonderful day
On Thursday I learned some interesting stuff that are really important. When my mentor were doing a lesson I pulled out a few kids to take a math test. I found out that some of the kids had difficult time while others didn't . When I was almost done she was done with the math lesson. After that she read a few books to them. When school was over she told me new vocabulary that I didn't know before. She said that each kid needs differentiated instruction. Basically that means that she has to find materials that meets their needs and teaching from what they know. Learning that mew word impacted my life because I also have to find a materials that meets their needs. Every Tuesday and Thursday is a different day. I learn new things when I go to my internship.

I'm on my way there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ooh my god where do i begin? I went to all my five informational interviews and also I went to a shadow day to get a sense of what my future mentor does to teach her students well. What I observed that in order to get her to students to get alot of knowledge she creates fun activities to get her students to learn in a fun way. Going to the shadow day I really liked the way she teaches her students well. I guess her fun teaching skills caught my attention and that's pretty much why i want to intern at that school.
